All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony is reportedly planning to sign a one-year, $2.4 million contract with the Houston Rockets once he's released by the Atlanta Hawks and clears waivers following his trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Anthony may not officially join the Rockets until next week, according to Marc Stein of The NY Times. The three-team trade  that will send him to Atlanta is currently being held up by the Philadelphia 76ers, who are attempting to make another roster move before finalizing the deal. The Hawks agreed to trade Dennis Shröder to the OKC Thunder for Anthony and a lottery-protected 2022 first-round draft pick.
