RICHARD SHERMAN LET GO FROM SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

It's been reported today that the Seattle Seahawks informed cornerback Richard Sherman he's been released, making him a free agent. The release comes amid a period of transition for the Seahawks. Despite his track record, the fact the Seahawks were unable to find a feasible trade for Sherman isn't surprising.

For one, Sherman counted for $13.2 million against the salary cap in 2018. That number likely scared away some potential suitors. and the Seahawks are saving $11 million by cutting him, with $2.2 million in dead money counting against the cap.
