Virgil Abloh made history today debuting his first collection for Louis Vuitton. Abloh is the first black creative director for the French fashion house. The show was full of friends and fans watching in support. The American designer also invited local fashion design students, who were given t-shirts that coordinated with the colorful catwalk. See the star studded front row which included Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott plus Jenner’s bff Jordyn Woods were there. Models Naomi Campbell and Bella Woods cozied up together before the show. Ansel Elgort, Quincy Brown, Christian Combs and Rita Ora all made an appearance. Even Black Panther, Chadwick Bozeman was there.

But it was Rihanna and A$AP Rocky who were extra close that was the biggest surprise. FYI Riri just broke up with her boyfriend and maybe she has already moved on.

After walking Abloh made a beeline to Kanye who he hugged and both men broke down in tears after such an iconic and historical show.

The former Fendi intern used his platform as a celebration of all ethnicities, generations and identities. He even posted a map if where each model and their parents were born. The rainbow catwalk featured models of many nationalities.

For the show’s inspiration he said

“It was this idea I had after my position was announced. I had others but this one hit me in the five hours that I flew over. It was this metaphor leaving Off-White and hitting this prism of Louis Vuitton and having access to the whole color spectrum.”

Abloh started from humble beginnings son of Ghanaian immigrants and did not attend fashion school but put on a show that was creative, inventive and fresh. Abloh’s designs were clean, cool and inspired by street wear; prefect for celebs to be photographed in, in the coming months. The iconic LV logo were practically nonexistent. In its place were bold prints, monochromatic outfits and the Wizard of Oz.
