BURT REYNOLDS, 1936-2018

Hollywood movie star Burt Reynolds has passed away at the age of 82.

 

He died Thursday morning at Jupiter Medical Center in Florida according to his manager, Erik Kritzer. The cause of death was cardiopulmonary arrest. He starred in classic films like Deliverance, The Longest Yard and Smokey and the Bandit. 

 

In 1997, he starred as porn director Jack Horner in Paul Thomas Anderson's Boogie Nights where he won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Academy Award.

 

 "My uncle was not just a movie icon; he was a generous, passionate and sensitive man who was dedicated to his family, friends, fans and acting students," his niece, Nancy Lee Hess, said in a statement. He’s also survived by his son, Quinton who he adopted with his ex-wife, Loni Anderson, whom he was married to from 1988-1993.
