XXXTENTACION’S PUBLIC FUNERAL HELD IN FLORIDA ARENA
Thousands of family, friends and fans gathered at the 20,000 seat BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida today for the funeral of rapper XXXTentacion. The six-hour service had an open casket and a strict ban on phones and cameras. Outside the arena, emotional fans, who had been in line from 7am, in the sweltering 100 degrees F, broke down in tears and hugged each other for support.
Family, friends and fans chanted his lyrics and made 'X' signs at the Florida arena, Wednesday, as people lined up for hours to file past a casket where the rapper was laid out in a denim jacket and two braids splayed over the side. Security guards flanked both sides of the open casket, surrounded by black roses and silver leaves, and a row of spotlights lit the stage at the 20,000-seat BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. Loudspeakers at the six-hour memorial service, which began at midday, blasted songs by the rapper, who was gunned down last week.
