LUPITA NYONG'O TO STAR IN FILM VERSION OF TREVOR NOAH MEMOIR

Oscar winner and Black Panther star Lupita Nyong'o announced Tuesday that she will star in the film adaptation of The Daily Show host Trevor Noah’s memoir, 'Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood', playing his mother. She tweeted the announcement below:

Released in 2016, Noah’s New York Times best-seller chronicles his years growing up in Apartheid-era South Africa, where his existence as a half-black/half-white person was against the law. One the memoir’s true stories is his mother surviving being shot in the head by his stepfather.
