SELENA GOMEZ REVEALS SHE HAD A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT; ACTRESS/PAL FRANCIA RAISA DONATED HER KIDNEY
Actress/singer Selena Gomez revealed that she recently underwent a kidney transplant due to her Lupus, explaining that's the reason why she took a hiatus from her career in recent months. The 25 year old said, “I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of,” she wrote. “So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health.”
She also revealed that it was her longtime pal, actress Francia Raisa, was the one who donated her kidney. Gomez shared how grateful she was via Instagram post:
“There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa,” she captioned the pic of her and Raisa, 29, side-by-side holding hands in hospital beds. “She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”
Gomez was recently spotted out for NY Fashion Week with boyfriend singer The Wknd.
